Nigeria secured a place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs following a 3-1 victory over the Panthers of Gabon.
The Super Eagles dominated play in the first half but were unlucky not to hit target.
Gabon goalkeeper Loyce Mbaba also produced a couple of saves to deny Victor Osimhen.
The Panthers dominated the game in the second forcing the Super Eagles into their own half.
Jerome Akor profited on a mistake from a Gabonese defender to hand Nigeria the lead in the 82nd minute.
Galatasaray midfielder Mario Lemina equalised for Gabon two minutes from time.
The games went into extra time after 90 minutes.
The Super Eagles took control of the game right from the start of extra time.
Substitute Chidera Ejuke restored Nigeria’s lead in the 97th minute.
Osimhen scored two more goals to seal win the game.
