Flying Eagles goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt has set his sights on winning the title at the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, reports Prompt News.
Harcourt played a significant role in Nigeria’s 3-1 penalty shootout victory over defending champions Senegal in Ismailia on Monday.
The Sporting Lagos shot stopper saved twice in the shootout as the Flying Eagles booked a spot in semi-final and also qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles are the most successful side in the history of the competition with seven title.
The youngster declared that they are determined to win a record extending eighth title in Egypt.
“We are not celebrating yet,” Harcourt declared after the game.
Getting the World Cup ticket was our most important goal, and we’re grateful to have achieved that. But our full focus is now on finishing the job — we want to be African champions.”
Aliyu Zubairu’s side will face South Africa in the semi-final at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday.
