Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has criticised Brazil’s performance following their 2-1 defeat to Norway in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2026, Prompt News Online reports.
The five-time world champions crashed out of the tournament after a disappointing display against the Norwegians at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday night.
Erling Haaland was the hero for Norway, scoring twice to send Ståle Solbakken’s side into the quarter-finals.
Substitute Neymar pulled one back for Brazil from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time, but it proved to be only a consolation.
Reacting to the result, Oliseh expressed his disappointment with Brazil’s display, saying Carlos Ancelotti’s side failed to perform to the standard expected of a team with such pedigree.
“Erling Haaland’s second goal tells you everything you need to know. Look at the tactical shape, look at the body language—The Brazil we used to know, is completely gone. This Brazil side is sadly and completely playing “ordinary”. Bravo Norway. This world cup continues to amaze!”Oliseh wrote on X.
