Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi believes England have what it takes to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, citing the quality and depth of talent in the Three Lions squad, Prompt News Online reports.
The Three Lions are aiming to win their second world title in Canada, Mexico, and United States of America.
England last tasted success at the global soccer fiesta on home soil in 1996.
Thomas Tuchel’s side started their campaign with a convincing 4-2 victory over Croatia.
Iwobi insisted that the Europeans can claim the title this time around.
“I personally believe England have a great chance of winning the World Cup,” Iwobi told Sky Sports Football.
“They’ve got so many stars in the team and so much ability. Even the players who are not starting can come off the bench and hurt the opposition.
“So, I’ll say England, but I also believe France are strong contenders. The attacking threat that France have is scary, but I actually hope England wins it.”
