Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has revealed that Afrobeats stars Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy are among the artistes she looks up to in the music industry.
Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone Africa, Savage said she draws inspiration from several musicians, including both international and local acts.
“I am inspired by so many people. Musically, I am inspired by Brandy…I also listen to Jazz… I am inspired by my peers,” she said.
“You know, Wiz, Burna, David. You know, everybody. I am inspired by so many people but I look up to God.”
Her comments come about a year after she criticised the popular “Big 3” label often used to describe Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as Nigeria’s leading global music exports.
In 2025, Savage argued that the label sidelines other successful female artistes in the Afrobeats industry.
“Think about it, right? Certain types of artistes get paid more. So, they get the opportunity to spend more on influencers and radio play so you’re going to hear their music way more,” she said.
“And I also feel like it’s unfair to have that conversation about the Top 3 and not mention someone like Tems. Are you serious?”

She later clarified her controversial “f*ck the big three” statement, explaining that her criticism was directed at the concept rather than the artistes themselves.
Prompt News reports Savage also highlighted the achievements of other musicians like Yemi Alade, Flavour, Asake, Tems, and Rema, questioning why they are often left out of mainstream conversations about Afrobeats’ biggest names.
