Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly called 2Baba, has addressed long-standing assumptions about his lifestyle, stating clearly that he is not a womaniser but someone who loves wholeheartedly.
In an interview with Voice of Nigeria shared on Wednesday, the multiple award-winning singer opened up about his personal life, touching on fame, marriage, fatherhood, and the pressures that come with public attention.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.
Speaking about his role as a father, 2Baba revealed that balancing a demanding music career with raising his children has been emotionally challenging. While grateful for his eight children, he admitted that he often wishes he had spent more quality time with them.
“I have eight kids now. I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he explained.
He went on to describe his children as exceptional individuals who bring him immense pride.
“They’re amazing, brilliant people. I just wish I was there more. It touches me from all corners,” he added.
Prompt News reports the singer also responded to comments directed at his wife, Natasha, especially claims that she controls or overly influences his decisions. According to him, such narratives are far from the truth.
“Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things.
“You grow thick skin, but sometimes it gets to you. Reality is reality, she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,” he said.

Revealing a softer side of his personality, 2Baba shared that he is naturally shy and introverted, despite his confident public image. He noted that his profession often forces him to act outside his natural temperament.
“My profession doesn’t permit me to be shy, but I’m actually a very shy person.
“Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments,” he concluded.
