Nollywood actress Mosun Filani has clarified reports surrounding her marriage while revealing what prompted her to take a break from acting.
Filani addressed the issue during an interview with BBC Yoruba, where she refuted the widespread belief that she married her husband as a second wife.
The actress acknowledged that her husband could have been married before their relationship, but stressed that she did not meet another wife living in his home when she got married.
“I stopped acting to focus on my family. I’m not a second wife; my husband might’ve had a marriage before, but I didn’t meet anyone in his house.
“My kids are grown; they know left from right, and it’s time for me to get back to acting”.
Speaking about her absence from the movie industry, Filani said she deliberately put her career on hold to concentrate on her family.

Prompt News reports she explained that her children were her priority at the time, but with them now older and more independent, she believes it is the right moment to resume her acting career.
The actress is now making her way back into Nollywood after years away from acting, signalling a fresh chapter in her career.
