Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has weighed in on the changing narrative around single motherhood, stating that many men now pursue single mothers for committed relationships rather than casual affairs.
According to the actress, society’s perception has evolved, and being a single mother is no longer something women should feel ashamed of.
She pointed out that many single mothers and their children are excelling in different areas of life.
Iyabo Ojo noted that men are increasingly drawn to single mothers because of their maturity and life experience, adding that some of them are clear about wanting marriage, not secrecy or side relationships.
She also encouraged women not to lose hope after a breakup, reassuring them that rejection by one partner does not define their worth or future.

They are even begging us that they don’t want us to be a side chick. They want us to marry them because we have experience. If a man leaves you, another man will accept you. I am The President General of the Single Mothers Association,” she said.
