The Warri Wolves duo of Azubuike Egwuekwe and Chigozie Agbim, have revealed that beating Malawi and the overall good performance of Super Eagles is as a result of unity that is present in the team.
The duo made this known to Prompt News Online after Super Eagles defeated Malawi 2-0 in a world cup qualifier, promising that the friendly against Burkina-Faso in Kaduna on Wednesday will also end up in victory for the Eagles.
Egwuekwe has received praise from all quarters for improving his game in recent time. He however attributed that to the unity that exists in the team.
“When we are in camp we all live like one family, there is no discrimination between Europe based or Nigerian based. And this atmosphere of unity helps us the home base players gain confidence and obviously our game must improve”
Agbim, also corroborating Egwuekwe, thanked God for the victory over Malawi, a feat which has seen the team qualify for the playoff round of the world cup in Brazil, 2014.
Talking about CHAN championship which commences in January in South Africa, both players expressed joy at the team’s qualification for CHAN and promised that the home based Super Eagles will not just participate in CHAN but are also looking forward to lifting the trophy.
