Zimbabwe midfielder Marshall Munetsi says the Warriors are relishing the opportunity to test themselves against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Prompt News Online reports.
The Warriors will take on Éric Chelle’s side in the semi-final of the 2026 Unity Cup at the Valley in London on Tuesday, 26 May — a fixture that will also mark Zimbabwe’s first-ever international match on English soil.
Munetsi expressed excitement about facing the three-time African champions, describing it as a major challenge for the team.
The Paris FC star also believes the Unity Cup will serve as valuable preparation ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“We have some big games coming up, and the first one is against Nigeria, which everyone is really looking forward to,” Munetsi told Zimbabwe Football Association official website.
“We have some new players coming in and some fresh faces in the squad. It’s a good opportunity for us to get to know each other better. Obviously, these two games are important, but our main focus is on the AFCON qualifiers coming up.”
