Ademola Lookman has returned to training with Atlético Madrid, but manager Diego Simeone remains uncertain about his availability for tomorrow night’s UEFA Champions League semifinal clash against Arsenal.
Simeone revealed that the Nigerian forward is still dealing with discomfort in his abductor muscle—an issue that forced him off in the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad.
The injury and also kept Lookman out of Atlético’s last two La Liga matches.
“We’ll assess him tomorrow. Ademola still felt some discomfort today,” Simeone told a press conference on Tuesday.
Despite the concerns, Lookman had earlier expressed confidence in his fitness and readiness to face his hometown club.
Atlético Madrid will host the first leg of the semifinal, with the return fixture scheduled for next week in London.
