USA star Mary Long says the team is battle ready for their quarter-final clash against Nigeria’s Flamingos at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, Prompt News reports.

The Americans will clash with Bankole Olowookere’s side at the CFC Stadium, Santiago de los Caballeros on Saturday (today).

The Flamingos won all three group games, scoring nine goals and conceding once.

Long has however declared his team’s readiness to beat the West Africans.

“This is a super talented group of girls and it’s been fun so far in the tournament. We continue to work hard and play well as a team,” she told US Soccer.

“Nigeria is a good team, scored a lot of goals in this tournament, but I think we are ready if we stick to the game plan like we always do.”
