Nigerian reality TV star and actress, Phyna, has buried her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, in an emotional funeral ceremony held over the weekend in Ogun State.
Ruth, who was only 24, died on August 31 from complications sustained in a road accident involving a Dangote truck on August 13. The crash happened just days after she marked her graduation from Auchi Polytechnic. She suffered severe injuries, including a leg amputation, before her eventual passing.
The funeral took place on Saturday at the family’s residence, where friends, relatives, and ex-BBNaija housemates Christy O and Groovy turned up to console Phyna. Dressed in black, the mourners gathered to pay their final respects in a deeply somber atmosphere.

Phyna, overwhelmed with grief, was seen holding back tears as she said her last goodbye to her sister.
Ruth’s passing had earlier sparked widespread condolences on social media, with fans, colleagues, and friends sharing messages of support. Many later joined the family at the burial to honor her memory.
The Otabor family has since requested privacy as they come to terms with their heartbreaking loss.
