The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated Ghana’s Black Queens 3-1 in a pre-2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations friendly on Sunday, Prompt News reports.
Justine Madugu’s side were in ascendancy from the start but the first chance of the game fell to Ghana.
Doris Boaduwaa’s low drive in the 17th minute failed to hit target.
Nigeria made their dominance count in the 34th minute when Chiwendu Ihezuo had his effort deflected into the net.
Six-time African Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala doubled the advantage from the penalty spot one minute before the break.
The pattern of play continued after the break with captain Rasheedat Ajibade netting the third with a cool finish in the 50th minute.
Ghana forward Evelyn Badu had a goal ruled out for offside in the 55th minute.
Ghana got one back two minutes from time courtesy of Alice Kusi from the spot.
The Super Falcons will now shift attention to their opening fixture at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against Tunisia next week Sunday.
