Nigeria’s Super Eagles dropped from 39th to 40th position in the latest FIFA World ranking.
The latest ranking was released on FIFA’s website on Thursday.
The Super Eagles dropped a place on the ranking despite enjoying a comprehensive 6-0 victory against Sao Tome and Principe in their last game.
In Africa, Jose Peseiro’s side are currently ranked sixth behind Morocco (1st), Senegal (2nd), Tunisia (3rd), Algeria (4th) and Egypt (5th).
World champions Argentina retained their number one position on the ranking. READ ALSO:

France, Brazil, England and Belgium complete the top five teams in the world.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 26 October.
