Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro is delighted with the impressive scoring form of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman in Serie A this season, reports Prompt News.
Osimhen is currently the leading marksman in the Italian top-flight this season with 13 goals from 15 matches.
Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman , who is two goal shy of Osimhen is in second position.
Peseiro hopes the two strikers can replicate the performance when the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers resume in March.
“It’s an exceptional moment for Nigerian footballers and knowing you can count on two strikers like them is something incredible,” Peseiro told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I’m telling the truth: knowing you have two strikers like that makes me feel much better, it makes me feel much better.
“At this point I hope they bring their positivity to the national team as well”.
