Portable Breaks Silence On Ashabi Simple’s Lawsuit

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly called out one of the mothers of his children, actress Ashabi Simple, accusing her of being unfaithful.

The outspoken artiste made the allegations in a lengthy video shared on Instagram, where he reacted angrily to a lawsuit Ashabi reportedly filed against him following a disagreement between them. Portable insisted that her decision to involve the court was unnecessary, stressing that there was never a legally recognised marriage between them.

According to the singer, his emotional ties to Ashabi are completely over, as he declared that nothing could make him reconsider his stance. “I am no longer interested in you and I can never love you again even if a knife is put on my neck,” he said.

Portable further argued that Ashabi had no basis to take legal action against him, emphasizing that their relationship was not formalised. “I didn’t marry you legally, so why are you taking me to court because we had a fight?” he questioned.

While distancing himself from her, the singer acknowledged his responsibility to their children, stating that his only remaining obligation is their upkeep. “The only thing I owe you now is food money for the children. I am done with you,” he added.

He also suggested that the legal battle could affect how their children perceive the situation in the future. “In future, you will tell your children that you took their dad to court,” Portable said.

In a final revelation, the singer claimed he deliberately avoided being tied down in marriage, alleging that Ashabi attempted to push him into it. “I have never seen a woman forcing a man into marriage. I ran out of the mosque when the naming was about to be turned into Nikkah,” he stated.

Prompt News reports the public fallout has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and followers weighing in on the escalating dispute between the former partners.
