Controversial singer Portable has demanded a DNA test for the children he had with his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, amid a dispute over child support.
The singer questioned the paternity of the children after the issue of his responsibility towards them became a point of contention between the estranged lovers.
In voice notes and messages that surfaced on Friday, Portable insisted that he wanted scientific confirmation before accepting responsibility for the children.
He questioned Ashabi’s movements while they were together, expressing doubts about whether the children were biologically his.
“I don’t trust you. Even when you were in my house, you hardly sleep at home for five days. How am I sure these children are mine even if they look like me?” Portable said.
He further maintained that he would not rely on physical resemblance to determine paternity, insisting that the children should undergo a DNA test.
“I don’t fall for such. Let us take them to hospital for proper DNA,” he added.
While Ashabi appeared to plead with the singer to take responsibility for the children, Portable remained firm on his demand for a DNA test.
Prompt News reports the disagreement later prompted a response from Ashabi, who addressed the issue of child support in a social media post.
The actress claimed that Portable had asked her to bring their children for another woman to take care of, while allegedly saying that he could not provide child support.
According to her, she was not ready to reconcile with the singer at the moment but insisted that when she was ready, he would have no choice but to take responsibility.

Ashabi’s response came as the disagreement between the former partners continued to play out publicly, with the issue of financial responsibility for the children now tied to Portable’s demand for a paternity test.
