A 19-year-old, Jinadu Micheal, was docked at an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday for unlawful possession of firearms.
The police charged him with a three-count charge of unlawful possession of firearms.
Prosecuting Insp Funmi Akinleye told the court that Michael was arrested on Aug. 13 at Ojo area of Lagos while threatening to kill one Ibrahim Oseni in company of others still at large.
She said the accused was unable to give a satisfactory explanation about how he came about the single barrel, locally made pistol and could not produce any licence authorising him to bear arms.
She said also that the offence was punishable under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fajana, adjourned the case until Oct. 13 for mention. (NAN)
