Mr Stephen Dogo, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperative, Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Thursday, called on the ministry’s staff to cultivate the virtues of discipline and punctuality.
Dogo, who made this appeal on Thursday in Lafia at a farewell meeting organised by the ministry in his honour, stressed the need for such virtues in order to achieve good results.
He urged the entire staff to cultivate a high sense of discipline, teamwork as well as redoubling their efforts in order to achieve greater results.
“Discipline is part of the civil service, as civil servants are expected to be disciplined, dedicated to duty and be punctual.
“If there is any staff, who has developed the habit of coming late to work, he or she should desist from it because it would not help him or her,” Dogo said.
Dogo, who was redeployed to the civil service commission, equally called on the directors under him to imbibe the habit of good working relationship.
He told the staff to cooperate with the deputy directors and other staff of the ministry in order to pave the way for continuity.
“They should work as a team to be able to achieve better results while the directors should endeavour to carry their deputies along in whatever they do, even as the deputy directors should carry other staff along”.
“The Gov. Umaru AI-Makura administration has created the enabling environment for the growth of the ministry, several markets were built, and some were allocated and occupied.
“The ministry was able to create the enabling business environment for traders while security was provided in and around every market in the state,” he said.
