The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially accepted the ruling of the Rivers State High Court, which annulled the party’s Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses held on July 27, August 10, and August 31, 2024.
In line with the court’s decision, handed down on Monday, January 13, 2025, the NWC has reinstated the Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor-led executive to oversee the party’s activities in Rivers State, in accordance with the party’s constitution.
The PDP leadership reiterated its commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and respect for the rule of law.
In a statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC emphasized the need for unity and progress within the party, particularly in Rivers State.
“The NWC urges the Ewor-led executive to work diligently to unite the party in Rivers State, ensuring the people continue to benefit from the developmental strides of our performing governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, in line with the PDP’s manifesto,” the statement said.
The party also commended its members in Rivers State for their dedication and loyalty, reaffirming PDP’s focus on being an inclusive and democratic party driven by the collective will of the people.
