Controversial social media influencer Abike Halima Raheem, popularly known as Papaya Ex has shared her frustrations regarding the poor water quality in Lekki, Lagos State, highlighting the high cost of maintaining clean water in her household.
In a social media post, the influencer revealed that she spends as much as N24,000 daily on bags of pure water to meet her basic needs, including cooking, bathing, and flushing toilets.
According to her, her water expenses in a month amount to a staggering N720,000.
Papaya Ex also showcased her recent purchase of 30 bags of pure water, emphasizing the lengths she has to go to ensure her household has access to clean and safe water.
Her lament has drawn attention to the ongoing challenges faced by residents in Lekki regarding water quality.
The post sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathizing with her plight, while others debated the practicality and sustainability of such expenses.
“Back to this! I’m tired to think a bag cost 800 now in my estate. Imagine 800 naira x 30 bags = 24k everyday. N720K monthly,” she captioned.
