Victor Osimhen is set to make his long-awaited return for Galatasaray in Wednesday’s Turkish Cup quarter-final clash against Gençlerbirliği at the RAMS Park, Prompt News reports.
The Nigeria international has been sidelined for the club’s last four matches due to an arm injury.
Although he was included in the matchday squad for last Saturday’s league encounter against the same opposition, he did not feature.
Osimhen took a significant step toward full fitness by completing Monday’s training session with his teammates.
According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, the 27-year-old is expected to get some minutes against the Red and Black, possibly featuring for 15–20 minutes as he builds match fitness ahead of Sunday’s high-profile derby against fierce rivals Fenerbahçe.
Galatasaray, the reigning Turkish Cup holders, are unbeaten in their last 10 matches in the competition, scoring 24 goals and conceding just eight.
Should the Yellow and Reds progress past Gençlerbirliği, they will face the winner of the Samsunspor vs Trabzonspor tie in next month’s semi-final.
