Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has received a heroic welcome at South African club Chippa United for his outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali, who was installed as Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper at the competition caught the eye with his exemplary displays.
The 27-year-old conceded four times in seven outings with the Super Eagles finishing in second position.
The goal tender returned to South Africa on Tuesday and was welcomed by hundreds of Chippa United fans at the Port Elizabeth Airport.
The shot stopper took selfies with the fans and joined them in singing the club’s songs.

“He’s Back 😌🔥🇳🇬 @NwabaliBobo,” the Chilli Boys wrote on their X handle.
The former Enyimba goalkeper received cash gifts, a national honour and was made a chief in his hometown after the AFCON 2023 finals.
