As the Division 3 playoffs kick off today across eight centres in the six geo -political zones in Nigeria, Shola Ogunnowo , the Chief Operating Officer of the League has charged the participating clubs to play according to the rules governing the game and avoid match manipulations in whatever form.
Speaking to the sporting press in Abuja on Monday, Ogunnowo said that everything has been put in place to ensure a smooth organisation of the tournament , stressing further that the league secretariat expects fans and stakeholders to see beautiful football devoid of match manipulations as various teams file out to the pitch for honours.
” The Nationwide League One has done everything possible to ensure a hitch free tournament in the division 3 playoff across the eight centres in the country and we have men on ground that will make sure that the tournament is rancour free at the centres” Ogunnowo said.
Furthermore he said that : “We have to make sure that there are no match manipulations in all the games as the board of the league sees the playoffs as a tournament that can makes or mar a football league in Nigeria”.
The eight centres hosting the Division 3 playoffs are Abeokuta, Ilorin, Oshogbo, Oghara, Lafia, Birnin Kebbi, Zaria and Owerri.
