By Gracious Akujobi A non-governmental organisation, Youth Initiative for Empowerment and Transparency in Leadership (YIET) has sworn in its Board of Directors.
The group has its eye set on unveiling activities that will add value to the life of the Nigerian youth by making them efficient where they seem to be deficient.
Therefore, YIET is working in partnership with the Nigeria Prison Service & National office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) for the benefits of Nigerian youths.
In his acceptance speech after their swearing in, the National Chairman of the body and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ambassador Fanny Amun, enjoined the youths to shun violence and not to allow themselves to be used by the so called leaders.
“Nigerians and our youths should request the leaders to lead by example. When the so called progressives call for anarchy, ask them to bring their children back from the Diaspora to lead by example”.
The former coach of the Golden Eaglets said this nation has done a lot for him and he cannot allow selfish individuals to bring war, anarchy to this nation.
He spoke further, “I am grateful to Nigeria for making me what I am today. Nigeria gave me an opportunity. I have been all over the world courtesy of the country called Nigeria.
“Those people, who say Nigeria will go apart and become ungovernable, will leave the scene and the Nation will be one.
“I don’t touch a project and it fails that is why our NGO is drumming support for the present administration for working tirelessly to ensure there is peace in the land in spite of the serious security challenges posed by the Boko Haram insurgency.
“The unity and peace of this nation is non-negotiable” he added.
Amun, said YIET commends President Goodluck Jonathan for always embracing dialogue despite the campaign of calumny against his administration adding that we all need each other to move Nigeria forward irrespective of party differences.
