Apparently afraid of an early exit from the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final after top-ranked countries like Germany, Canada and Brazil that have crashed out in the preliminary round, Nigeria’s opponents in the Round of 16, England has intensified training ahead of the epic clash billed for Monday, August 7 in Brisbane.
PROMPT NEWS can confirm that England are continuing their training ahead of the first-ever World Cup match between both nations next Monday as the Three Lionesses led by Head Coach, Sarina Wiegman earlier on Friday on the Central Coast of Australia were out training at their base for the tournament in Terrigal.
Dutchwoman, Wiegman is said not to be sleeping pretty well over England’s clash against the nine-time African champions Super Falcons hence she has increased the work schedule of her team in order to get the players ready to subdue “the stubborn” Africans on Monday.
The coach of the reigning champions of the UEFA European Women’s Championship, had earlier said after her team booked a FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 Round of 16 meeting with Super Falcons, they are going to pay close attention to their next opponents after what happened to other big name countries in the competition.

Wiegman and Three Lionesses have since returned to intensive training in their Terrigal base ahead of the Monday, August 7 winner takes all match in Brisbane.
England ranked seventh in the world will have a hard time facing Nigeria ranked 40th in the world if the performance of the perennial campaigners in the group stage is anything to rely upon. Nigeria and England have not lost any match in Australia and New Zealand so far.
