By Mohammed Yangida, Lafia              Nasarawa State Police Command has said that 20 persons have been arrested in connection with the recent renewed violence in the State.

Briefing newsmen on Monday in Lafia, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ugochukwu Theodore, said the suspects and others now at large from different ethnic groups engaged in disturbance of public peace.

According to him, the suspects disturbed public peace on November 16, 17 and 18, 2014, setting houses, shops and other property ablaze.

Theodore assured that the suspects, who also caused the death of some innocent citizens of the state, will soon be charged to court.
He said the suspects are: Amos Alu, Ibrahim Yahuza, Hamza Jibrin, Faisal Sani, Isa Abdullahi and 15 others.
The PPRO called for more support from the general public, urging voluntary information that could assist the police, adding that security is the responsibility of all.
