Dr. Bode Durotoye, former Director of Grassroots at the Federal Ministry of Sports Development on Monday was elected Chairman, Nigeria Association of Physical Health Education Recreation, Dance & Sport (NAPHER-SD), Abuja branch.
Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman and Dr. Robinson Okonsun were elected 1st Vice Chairman and Public Relations Officer, PRO, respectively.
The election was held at Media Centre, Moshood Abiola Stadium, marking the commencement of a new era under his leadership.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Durotoye articulated his fervent dedication to fostering inclusivity within the association, acknowledging the modest turnout at the election while highlighting the untapped potential of members yet to fully engage with the organization.
Reflecting on the nascent stage of the association’s development, he reminisced about his pivotal role in coordinating its activities over the preceding two to three years.
However, he expressed optimism in the burgeoning growth witnessed, noting the successful expansion of membership and the milestone achieved with the inaugural executive committee.
