Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has withdrawn all charges against TikTok creator Eedie Bliss, leading to her release from police custody.
Eedie Bliss regained her freedom on Saturday, January 17, 2026, following widespread public pressure and reactions across social media platforms.
The decision came shortly after social media critic VeryDarkMan criticized the actress, calling out what he described as oppression and emphasizing that defamation is a civil issue, not a criminal matter. VeryDarkMan also joined others in calling for Eedie Bliss’ release and issued an ultimatum to Mercy Johnson.
Moments later, he confirmed the TikToker’s release on Instagram, writing: “@MercyJohnsonOkojie, thank you very much, my GREATEST OF ALL TIME, for dropping the case. Moving on, I am buying all defamation cases against Mercy Johnson and her family. The bullying is too much. You all should leave her family alone.”

Eedie Bliss had been arrested days earlier over a TikTok video she shared in December 2025 involving Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie.
Prompt News reports in the video, the TikToker alleged that Prince Okojie had recently purchased a house for a pregnant mistress. She also claimed, citing blogger Cutie Juls, that the actress allegedly colluded with the mistress’ house help to cause a miscarriage.
