Rivers Angels player, Stella Mbachu says her team is determined to win the FA cup.
Speaking to Prompt News Online after helping her team defeat Pelican Stars 2-0 in Abuja at the semi final stage of the FA cup, the Super Falcons winger said they would work towards winning the cup third time in a row.
“Our aim is to go to the final and lift the trophy. As defending champions, we want to lift the trophy for the third time, we want to retain it”
Meanwhile, Mbachu also disclosed that she intends to retire from international football soon. She confirmed that she will not be a Falcons player when the AWC comes up in 2014 in Namibia.
“I am getting close to calling it quit on my International career. I will not be available for the next AWC because I have less than one year to hanging my boots”
She also praised the appointment of her coach as Caretaker manager of Super Falcons, expressing optimism that he would succeed because he is a competent hand who is at home in female football.
“Coach Okon is a very competent hand, he is ok. You know he has been in the female football for long, he knows the in and out, every player’s ability, how to use them and how not to use them. That it is why it is good to give somebody who is an insider in the female game” she opined.
