By: Gracious Akujobi Former Super Falcons Chief Coach, Kadiri Ikhana has warned Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi not to dismiss the threats of the Malawi Flames with a wave of hand as the East Africans can spoil Nigeria’s world cup party.
Ikhana who paid the price of under achieving by getting the boot told Prompt News Online that Keshi aside being wary of the determined Malawians must also watch for Coach Saintfiet who is bitter that he was denied a job in Nigeria
The ex-Green Eagles defender said ordinarily, Malawi are no match for the Super Eagles but added that with the way they have been boasting, they should not be taken lightly.
“Keshi should present a team that will not only silence the Malawians but whip them silly. The threats are real and we cannot afford to lose that last qualifying match. It is going to be very tough but Eagles would emerge at the end.
“I was impressed with the manner the Eagles out played their South African counterparts 2-0 in the Mandela Challenge and I want to believe that a repeat of such performance will see them win very well in Calabar in September” Ikhana stated.
The coach who was voted the African Best coach of the year 2003 was full of praise for Keshi for being able to build a very competitive team adding that they sure would cause ripples at the world cup in Brazil.
