A Nigerian lawyer, Muhammad Adam, identified as Nupe Lawyer on micro-blogging platform X, has advised veteran singer Mike Ejeagha to sue popular skit maker Brain Jotter for alleged copyright infringement.
This was following the use of Mike Ejeagha’s 1981 song by Brain Jotter in a skit which has since gone viral, while offering N2M as compensation.
The lawyer noted the importance of copyright laws and advised that Mike Ejeagha may be entitled to more compensation than the amount Brain Jotter offered.
He wrote, “I hope the man has a good lawyer😀 you can’t use someone’s song for content raking millions and offer to give the man “2million” as if you are helping the man🤷♂️.”
