Labour Party has released the list of nine governorship aspirants cleared by the party’s Screening Committee to participate in the governorship primary election fixed for Friday, February 23, 2024.
Prominent names cleared by the Screening Committee are former President of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Barrister Olumide Osaigbovo Anthony Akpata aka Olu Dee; Barrister Kenneth Imansuangbon better known as “Rice Man”; Professor Eboh Sunday Eromosele; Dr. Blessing Akele and Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Sergius Ogun.
Others are Dr. Angela Enimien Aburime Asom,
Dr. Mrs. Loretta Oduware Ogboroko, Prince Tom Iseghohi and Mr. Abegbe Ernest Osabhuohien.
The names of the cleared aspirants were contained in the list sighted by Prompt News on Tuesday evening and titled: Result of Screening of Gubernatorial Aspirants for Edo State. It was signed by Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, National Secretary/Secretary Screening Committee. READ ALSO:

With the publishing of the names of cleared aspirants, the stage is set for the smooth conduct of the Labour Party governorship primary election in Edo state despite the alarm raised by one of the aspirants Akpata that the process “lacks transparency”.
