Popular Twitch streamer and online content creator Kai Cenat has once again arrived in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing renewed public focus to his widely discussed plan to establish a school for disadvantaged children.
The internet personality touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday, where he received a warm welcome complete with live band music. Clips from the arrival quickly made the rounds on social media, igniting fresh conversations among fans and commentators.
Nearly a year has passed since Cenat’s first trip to Nigeria, when he announced his intention to invest $5 million in an education project designed to support children from Makoko, the well-known waterfront settlement in Lagos. Following that announcement, the project ran into obstacles related to land access and regulatory processes within the community.
Because of Makoko’s distinctive floating environment, the original plan was later revised. The proposed school location was moved to Yaba, a more structurally stable area of Lagos. Despite the change, Cenat has continued to emphasise that children from Makoko will be enrolled at no cost once the school begins operations.
An update on the project was shared during his Mafiathon 3 livestream, where Cenat disclosed that over $1 million has already been raised. He noted that the development would follow a phased approach, prioritising durability and long-term success rather than a rushed build.

Cenat’s return has stirred optimism among many Nigerians who believe the project could now gather pace. At the same time, online critics remain cautious, calling for visible construction progress and clearer timelines.
Prompt News reports the visit also comes shortly after fellow American streamer IShowSpeed toured Nigeria, drawing massive crowds and viral moments across Lagos. The successive visits have further highlighted Nigeria’s growing influence within the global streaming and digital entertainment space.
With Cenat now back in Lagos, attention remains fixed on whether this trip will mark a turning point in bringing his ambitious education initiative to life.
