            Harry Awurumibe, State House, Abuja
Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari is extremely happy with the news of certification of Nigerian international airports by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
This much was disclosed Tuesday afternoon by the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika when he addressed State House Correspondents after briefing President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
According to the minister who came to the briefing room with Engr. Hassan Musa, a director in the Aviation ministry alongside the ICAO certificate said that ” Mr. President is extremely happy to hear that Nigeria airports are among the safest in the world. He congratulated Nigerians for the feat “.
Sen. Sirika also disclosed that ICAO scored Nigeria over 96% after a  survey of more than 100 countries airports, adding that ” only 16 countries including Nigeria received high scores from ICAO for taking issues of security very serious at Nigeria airports”.
“Insider or Internal Security has been a top priority since the inception of the  administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and the result is the certification of our airports by ICAO.
“I am glad to announce that Abuja Airport (Nnamdi Azikiwe International) and Lagos Airport ( Murtala Muhammed International Airport) have been certified. Soon Kano and Enugu will also be certified”, Sirika hinted.
