Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has rejected reports that she denied making social media posts criticising her colleague, Judy Austin, insisting that she stands by her previous remarks.
The controversy comes amid a legal battle involving Austin, her former husband, Emmanuel Obasi, and Rita.
In August, Austin filed a defamation suit against Obasi and Rita, seeking N1 billion in damages from the actress over alleged defamatory statements. She is also demanding N50 million as legal costs.
Amid the ongoing case, reports emerged claiming that Austin’s lawyer had told the court that Rita denied making some of the social media posts attributed to her.
Reacting to the reports in a Facebook post, Rita dismissed the claim and maintained that the comments attributed to her were indeed made by her.
Prompt News reports she also repeated several allegations she had previously levelled against Austin while urging her to appear in court on September 29.
“29th never come oooo, I never go court and in their normal way of propagating lies, it’s all over the social media say I deny wetin dem copy from my page. Like how?” she wrote.
“Ok Jujuwhorestin, did you grab someone’s husband? The answer is yes. You born for am? The answer is yes. Did you dey for court say una no dey marry but dey claim say na skit makers una be? The answer is yes.
“Una sleep and do other things for hotel Helson New Market Road Nkpor after New Parts before Nkpor Junction? The answer is yes and finally did you sue me with Mrs wey no be your name? The answer is yes.
“Abeg mek una calm down and beg her to mek sure say she come court on the 29th day of September 2026. Ijele Ekwechiligo baaadly na nke Ikpeazuaaaa. so ndi gossipers na eme Ofuma, biaaaa nu welunum kuaa asili more and more na nke Ikpeazuaaa bikonu.
“Chaaaaaaiiiii Ijele is always walking the walk with her model K legs.”

The dispute is the latest development in a long-running feud involving Rita, Austin and Obasi.
In 2024, Obasi alleged that Austin had prevented him from having access to their children for about 10 years after she married actor Yul Edochie in 2023.
Rita, who is part of Yul Edochie’s extended family, has repeatedly criticised Austin publicly.
In 2023, she also confronted Austin over her relationship with Yul, telling her to “release the man you snatched”, referring to the actor’s marriage to his first wife, May Edochie, at the time.
