The Ogun State Police Command has discovered human body parts hidden inside buildings posing as Cherubim and Seraphim Church parishes in Kobape town and along Abiola Way in Abeokuta, the state capital.
This shocking find came after the arrest of three suspects—Sunday Akintobi, Oladimeji Olaniran, and Isaiah Tijani—on April 22, 2025.
Prompt News reports that they were allegedly caught with human body parts in various parts of Abeokuta.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the arrests were made by the SWAT unit following credible intelligence.
Akintobi, 36, a resident of the Itoku area, was the first suspect apprehended. His arrest led to the capture of Olaniran, 40, and Tijani, 38.
Searches conducted at their properties revealed skeletal remains and other body parts believed to be human, hidden inside buildings masquerading as places of worship.
“These so-called churches were nothing more than fronts for illegal activity,” Odutola stated.
In response, Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough probe to uncover the full extent of the suspects’ activities.
He has also called for expert forensic analysis based on the suspects’ confessions.
Odutola urged the public not to shield criminals and to report suspicious activity promptly, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in tackling ritual killings and other violent crimes.
The police also advised families to secure the graves of their deceased loved ones to prevent desecration by grave robbers.
