Nigerian music star Asake has reflected on how Lagos influenced both his personal development and musical journey.
The singer, born Ahmed Ololade, revealed that relocating to Lagos after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University played a key role in shaping his outlook on life.
Speaking during a recent interview with Spotify, the Sungba crooner described the city as a major force behind his growth and creativity.
“Lagos taught me how to live like a man. Lagos inspired most of my songs,” he said.
Asake also expressed gratitude for the global recognition he has received, acknowledging that many talented artistes remain unheard.

“I’m happy because there are a lot of people who make music out there and a lot of people who are more talented than me. I’m thankful to God that I’m able to use the talent He gave me — not only locally but also globally. So for that, I give all thanks to God,” he added.
