The Ondo State Police Command has deployed operatives to capture the individuals responsible for the murder of three farmers in the Ajagbusi community, located in the Akure North Local Government Area, on Tuesday.
Ayanlade Olushola, the command’s spokesman, confirmed this to reporters in Akure on Tuesday.
Olushola, who confirmed that all tactical teams had been sent to the affected community, appealed to residents to avoid taking the law into their own hands and to allow security agencies to carry out their responsibilities.
He stated that the command has deployed all necessary resources to the affected area to ensure the arrest of the perpetrators and that they face the full consequences of the law.
“Yes, three farmers were killed by gunmen, and tactical teams have been deployed to the area to restore order and apprehend the assailants.
“So, security agencies are in place to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the area. The command urges all law-abiding citizens to go about their business without any fear,” Olushola said.
NAN reported that the victims were ambushed on their way to the farm and shot dead on Tuesday morning while riding a motorcycle.
The attackers were said to have fled the scene after the murder.
