Nigerian activist Verydarkman has addressed recent criticism from presidential aide Daniel Bwala, who accused Peter Obi of lacking empathy over the ongoing violence in Benue State.
Bwala had called out the former Anambra governor for failing to visit victims of the attacks, contrasting Obi’s absence with Verydarkman’s personal visit to the affected communities.

In a new video, the outspoken activist responded to the claim, offering clarification on the situation. According to him, Obi had made an effort to visit Benue in April 2025 but was allegedly prevented from doing so by the state governor, Rev. Fr. Hyancinth Alia.
“Mr Bwala, you said Peter Obi was not there and lacks empathy. Let me break it down,” Verydarkman said. “I’m not trying to support Peter Obi here, but in April 2025, Peter Obi was stopped from going into Benue State by the governor.”
He went on to suggest that political rivalry may be fueling the recent wave of criticism directed at Obi.
“Since Peter Obi and him people start the ADC thing, all of Una just dey restless. Wike go talk today, you, you go talk tomorrow—and dem never even give am presidential ticket yet,” he added.
The exchange comes amid growing political tension and speculation around Obi’s next move ahead of the 2027 elections.
