Suspected armed herders have reportedly launched coordinated attacks on Div, Nzaav and Jato-Aka communities in the Turan district of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, leaving at least two people dead and several others unaccounted for.
Local sources told Daily Post that the bodies of two victims identified as Iornenge Utyo and Ywerkaa Tsavnande were recovered after the invasion, while scores of residents—mostly women and children—remain missing as search efforts intensify.
Community members said the attackers struck in the early hours, causing widespread panic and forcing villagers to flee into surrounding bushes to escape the violence.
The full scale of the destruction is still unclear as residents continue to search abandoned homes and pathways for missing persons.
