Nigerian actress Foluke Daramola has revealed the personal and financial setbacks she experienced after openly backing President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
Daramola, who served as a media assistant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council in Lagos, disclosed that her political involvement came at a significant cost, including the loss of endorsement deals and strains in her marriage.
In an interview with Behind The Fame TV, the actress reflected on how the experience has shaped her perspective as she prepares for the 2027 elections.
She explained that, while she did not receive any financial gain from her support, she lost two ambassadorial deals totaling N25 million and encountered marital challenges.
“The truth of the matter is, for me, the way I was in 2023 cannot be the way I will be in 2027. It cannot be because… I know what I lost without collecting a kobo, no matter how much is seen,” she said.
“I lost two ambassadorship deals, one ₦10 million, one ₦15 million, because of the election, because of the Obidient movement. I almost lost my marriage. But the fundamental thing is that I voted my conscience and choice.”
