The First Lady, Patience Goodluck Jonathan has described the death of Distinguished Senator Pius Akpo Ewherido as a great loss, not only to the people of Delta State, but the entire nation, especially his colleagues at the National Assembly.
She says his death came as a rude shock and becomes more painful with reference to his invaluable contribution to law making and the stability of the Senate.
The First Lady notes the dedication, courage and deep focus of Senator Ewherido, given his disposition as a law maker in the Delta State House of Assembly, an experience that he successfully brought to bear on his contributions on the floor of the Senate.
Mrs. Jonathan commiserates with the widow of Senator Ewherido, who was always on her entourage to public functions, her children, as well as the entire relations, praying that God gives the family the strength to bear the colossal loss.
According to her Media aide, Ayo Osinlu, she also prays to Almighty God to grant the late Senator eternal rest.
