President of  Nigeria Football Federation Ibrahim Gusau  has made it clear that the head coach of Super Eagles George Finidi has a contract with the football house and the call for his sack cannot hold water.

Gusau made  this known while addressing media after his meeting with the  Sports Minister ,  Senator John Enoh  on the way forward towards Nigeria’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He said with the comprehensive review of matches played so far,  a process would be put place to ensure we have players  that are willing to play for  the country.

Gusau assured that the super eagles will qualify for world cup with the changes that will be announced soon  by the federation.

“Our meeting with the Minister is to rub minds and find a way forward toward our qualification for the world cup.

“I known our position is not too good but we can still qualify.  We have enough time to prepare for the next qualifiers  and we must look inwards in getting players.

“Continuing, the call for Finidi’s sack doesn’t hold water . Finidi has a contract Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and we must respect the contract.

“I know Nigeria will qualify though it might look dicey but we will qualify.”
