By: Gracious Akujobi As the Golden Eaglets finalize preparations for their first game against the Mexican side in the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Dubai, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) General Secretary, Musa Ahmadu has expressed confidence in the ability of the team to emerge victorious.
Speaking with Prompt News Online, the NFF scribe said “We have record at the U-17 level and we have the best record of all the teams better than even Brazil.
“The last time we won the cup was in 2007 in Korea and we want to make sure we replicate this feat.
“Let us not forget that U-17 is developmental so we don’t want to put pressure on the players and officials. I believe the team will not let Nigerians down,” he opined.
Also corroborating the General Secretary, the Director of competitions at the Nigeria Football Federation, Sanusi Mohammed, expressed confidence in the ability of the Eaglets to pick all three points when they take on the Mexican U-17 team in their first match on the 19th.
His words, “I want to believe that the Eaglets will come out victorious because of three reasons: firstly, both the players and the officials believe in themselves which means they have confidence in themselves.
“The other aspect is their dedication and the third and final reason is that they have never underrated any team, any match they play they play with all seriousness it deserves, they do not see any team as an underdog or above them.
“These are the three most important thing a team requires to be successful and this team has it and lastly the players are very skillful, they have been together they know what to do and by the grace of God they will come out victorious”
Prompt News Online also gathered that the Eaglets camp is bubbling with excitement, there are no injury worries as all 21 players are eligible to play against the Mexican.
Coach Manu has assured Nigerian that the boys will deliver on Saturday.
