Rangers head coach, Barry Ferguson was full of praise for Cyriel Dessers, who reached the 50-goal mark with his brace in the club’s 3-1 victory over Dundee United on Wednesday night, Prompt News reports.
The Nigeria international achieved the feat in only his second season at the club.
Dessers arrived Rangers from Italian club Cremonese in July 2023.
The forward scored in each half to help Rangers to a comeback against Dundee United win at the Ibrox.
Ferguson said the striker’s goal return has been phenomenal.
“He comes in for unfair criticism in my opinion. One thing about him is he always gives 100 per cent and his goal return this season has been phenomenal,” he told the club’s official website.
“He has 28 goals this season and I am delighted for him. I’m sure he’ll want me to start him on Saturday so he can hopefully get one or two more.”
