Manchester United were forced to settle for a point at Fulham after Matheus Cunha’s late deflected strike rescued a 1–1 draw at Craven Cottage.
United appeared set to suffer another frustrating afternoon when Lisandro Martinez’s unfortunate own goal handed Fulham the lead and piled the pressure on Ruben Amorim’s side.
But Cunha came to United’s rescue late on, with his effort taking a decisive deflection before finding the net to deny Fulham a first Premier League victory under manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
The result sees Fulham move off the bottom of the Premier League table, although they remain without a league win since Arbeloa took charge.
United, meanwhile, will feel they escaped with a point after struggling to turn their possession into clear-cut chances.
Fulham will take encouragement from a spirited display, while United will know there is plenty to improve on despite avoiding defeat.
