*** Dismisses 25% FCT Votes Claim
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has ruled that the Labour Party and its presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi have failed to prove that APC presidential candidate in the election, Bola Tinubu, was convicted in the United States.
Justice Haruna Tsammani, while reading the judgment ruled that no record of criminal arrest or conviction was established against Tinubu by LP and Obi who are the petitioners.
He also dismissed the Labour Party and Peter Obi’s claim that 25 percent needed to win the presidential election.
The tribunal contended that FCT is like other states of the federation hence, the residents have no special privileges as the petitioners claimed.
Also, the tribunal rejected 10 out of 13 witnesses presented by Obi, saying the 10 witnesses were subpoenaed and their witness statements on oath were only filed after the hearing started. READ ALSO:

According to Justice Tsammani, Section 285 of the Nigerian constitution, section 137(7) of the Electoral Act 2022, and other provisions, states that every witness statement on oath must be filed along with the petition.
