A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, sentenced a 29-year-old bar attendant, Samson Timothy, to eight months imprisonment for stealing his employer’s N372,000.
The convict, a resident of Goni-gora in Kaduna, had pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mr Ibrahim Emmanuel, sentenced Timothy to eight months imprisonment without option of fine to serve as deterrent to would-be offenders.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 28 at Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna.
Leo told the court that the defendant, who was employed as a bartender by the complainant, Austin Okoro, at his leisure center, stole N372,000 on Feb. 28, which was part of his sales for the day.

“The bar owner waited for two days for Timothy to return with the stolen money but he did not which made him to report the matter to the police.
“The defendant was traced and arrested at his friend’s house and half of the money was recovered from him,” the prosecutor told the court.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.(NAN)
